Pleasant Street Block Party

Birds flying into the belfry of the First Congregational Church Claremont, NH

Shortly after moving to Claremont, NH in late 2019, COVID-19 hit the world. During the lockdown, being restless and eager to get involved with our new community, we attended several virtual meetings on a renovation planned for the main thoroughfare through downtown, Pleasant Street.

In spring and summer of 2022, after attending some of the Chamber of Commerce planning meetings on a big Block Party that was intended to celebrate the completion of this renovation, I offered my services in design and desktop publishing to create both a logo for the “new” Pleasant Street, and a souvenir booklet/program for the event, which would also contain advertising from local businesses, maps of the area, contests, information, sponsor listings, schedule of events, and more.

The 2022 Pleasant Street Block Party turned out to be a great success, and I am very proud to have had the opportunity to participate in this important milestone for the community.
