The posts below are a collection of experiences, stories, projects, and portfolio pieces that I’ve chosen to share. Some are work-related, some are just life and thoughts and musings, some are something else entirely. “Et cetera” seemed to sum it up nicely, thanks to a suggestion from a friend.
Please note that some posts may be kept private, due to sensitive or highly personal topics that I have chosen to only share with a select few. If you’re interested in access to these posts, please contact me to make a request.
TOOL VAN
In 2011 I began work on the ambitious project to design a full vehicle wrap for a Ford Sprinter utility van, which would be used for local sales calls and applications demonstrations within a fixed radius from its home location in Chicago, IL.
Trade Shows
One of my absolute favorite parts of my career so far was the work I did on trade shows. I fell in love with the idea of turning our brand and product solutions into an experience in a physical space.
HPR cartridge
Here’s a video on an important new cartridge-based consumable line for a line of high-amperage plasma cutting systems. As the content strategist on the central marketing team, I provided the campaign and content strategy, concept development, and script and storyboard editing for this marketing launch video.
Pleasant Street Block Party
Shortly after moving to Claremont, NH in late 2019, COVID-19 hit the world. During the lockdown, being restless and eager to get involved with our new community, we attended several virtual meetings on a renovation planned for the main thoroughfare through downtown, Pleasant Street. In spring and summer of 2022, after attending some of the Chamber of Commerce planning meetings
rOLPh (Robot’s Story)
During my time as the Content Strategist for Hypertherm Associates, my responsibilities were somewhat fluid. One day I’d be leading global campaign strategy meetings. The next day, performing content audits for routine collateral updates. And so forth. Occasionally, I had a chance to really get outside of the normal groove of the role and work on something unique.
“Tough Stuff” Editorial
In 2019, while working with PFERD INC., I had the opportunity to submit an editorial to a trade publication with whom we worked frequently. As Marketing Communications Manager, editing and coordinating these types of pieces with the trade pubs was really nothing new.
Coming Soon to a YouTube Near You
I have spent the last month or so working in a completely new medium: video. Author Pat McDermott is shouldering a huge amount of the responsibility of promoting the re-release of her novel A Band of Roses, and as her graphic/web designer and marketing consultant, I have offered to try my hand at the trend of creating a video “trailer”.
Waste, Excess, and Consumption By the Numbers
I came across an amazing photographic artist by the name of Chris Jordan. I cannot even begin to fathom how he creates his pieces, or how many dozens of hours of work went into each one, but they are truly amazing.
R.I.P Kurt Vonnegut 1922-2007
So it goes. There’s nothing I can say that can accurately convey the sense of loss I feel over one of the 20th Century’s most important authors, except that his writing had an amazing way of putting everything — our actions, our mere existence, the universe itself — into perspective.
